Cross out text with a real strikethrough you can copy and paste into any app — plus underline, overline and slash variants.
18 characters — every style below updates as you type, entirely in your browser.
This strikethrough text generator crosses out whatever you type and gives you a version you can copy and paste anywhere — Instagram, Discord, Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Docs, Slack, even plain-text email. It works by attaching a combining long stroke overlay (Unicode U+0336) to each character, so the line travels with the text instead of being formatting that gets stripped on paste.
Alongside the standard strikethrough you get a short-stroke variant, a diagonal slash, single and double underlines, an overline, and a tilde overlay. Underline is particularly useful because most social platforms give you no underline button at all. Every variant updates live as you type and each has its own copy button.
Two things to keep in mind. Combining characters roughly double the character count of your string, so a strikethrough message can hit a platform's character limit sooner than you expect. And because the stroke is a separate character, some older apps render it slightly offset. If a platform already has a native strikethrough shortcut — Slack's ~text~ or Discord's ~~text~~ — prefer that; use this tool for the many places that have none. Everything runs client-side in your browser.
