This discount calculator answers the two questions you actually have while shopping: what will I pay, and how much am I saving? Enter the original price and the discount percentage, and the sale price, the amount saved and the effective saving percentage appear instantly.
The second discount field handles stacked offers — "30% off, then an extra 20% at checkout". Stacked discounts do not add up: 30% then 20% is a 44% total saving, not 50%, because the second discount applies to the already-reduced price. The calculator does that compounding for you and shows the real effective discount.
