Tally Counter

This online tally counter replaces the little metal clicker. Tap the plus button to count up, minus to correct a mistake, and add as many counters as you need — one per category, each with its own name and step size. The running total across every counter is shown at the bottom.

A digital tally counter is handy anywhere you would otherwise scratch marks on paper: counting people through a door, stock on a shelf, laps, reps, birds on a survey, cars at an intersection, knitting rows, or attendance at an event. Set the step to 2, 5 or 10 when each click represents more than one item, and rename each counter so you don't lose track when you're running several at once.

Your counts are saved automatically in your own browser, so you can close the tab and come back to the same numbers later. Nothing is sent to a server and no account is needed. On a phone the buttons are sized for thumbs, which makes this tally counter practical for real fieldwork rather than just a novelty.
